Chair Re-Do

img_0259A few months ago I purchased this chair for Big Brother’s room with intentions of painting it and re-doing the seat.  The chair was a thrift store find for $3.  I thought I had a before picture of it but as it turns out I do not… well, imagine a orange varnish with a green seat cover and there you have it… the chair was actually a Wendy’s chair that was most likely taken out of the store for a remodel.  Anyway – I bought some Annie Sloan chalk paint at the beginning of the summer and it has taken me a while to get around to my projects that I had in mind with it and now after my first piece I am wondering why!?!  The paint is so easy to work with.  It took me in total from beginning to end for the entire chair maybe forty minutes, that includes taking the seat off, painting, drying, reupholstering the seat, clear waxing and reassembling the chair.  The paint went on so nicely that I actually let Middle Brother help.  I will admit that I have my eye on a few more pieces in my house that might be getting some Annie Sloan love in the very near future!
