You know those friends that you can live life with? The ones that see you at your worst and still stick around? The ones that are able to say, “me too”? I am fortunate to have a group of friends that can share this crazy thing called life with.
This last week I had the obligation privilege to share what we call a leadership testimony, last week as I prepared what I was going to say I spent some time thinking through the last eight years we have lived here in Colorado. In the last eight years I have made many friends. Most of my friends are a product of my community of MOPS. I joined MOPS in August of 2008. Making friends has never been an easy one for me. However over the eight years I can honestly say that I am truly blessed I have enough friends, that I have to use two hands to count them!
These friends are ones that I can share my struggles with. Friends that will encourage me when I am down but also ones that will tell me to suck it up. More importantly than all of that is they are the friends that say, “me too”. They share vulnerability, they meet where I am and instead of looking down on me they acknowledge that they are either in the midst of the same struggles, or have walked the same path.
In my opinion a true friend is one that is authentic. When you find a friend that is willing to say, “me too”, hang onto them!
